2:45 to 3:45 p.m.  Engaging Staff and Improving their Wellbeing; National Insights and Strategies for Schools

All employers see a value to building staff engagement, and schools are no exception to this.  In this session we will provide an industry snapshot on unique wellbeing challenges, common program components, budgets and incentives, and measures to evaluate success.  Participants should leave with a good understanding of how their efforts compare to their peers, and simple ideas they can implement to make their program more robust.

9:00 – 10:30 a.m.  Understanding and minimizing the effects of Bias in Hiring:  Ensuring an Equity Approach

This session is intended for all leaders and Human Resource staff involved in the hiring process, to ensure that the interview process minimizes unconscious bias and meets legal commitments in order to equitably recruit, select and promote.  This session will also explore best practices for retention strategies once you successfully select and recruit a quality candidate.

1:15 to 2:15 p.m.       Political Speech at Work:      As the US and Canada become more socially and politically polarized, how do we deal with political speech at work or outside work that directly affects the work environment? What are the limits on addressing an employee’s social media opinions?

2:30 to 3:30 p.m.   What have we learned Part 2? A continuation of our conversation from Sunday over what labor relations lessons we have learned over the past two years.
